Selected projects in Film and Art (2018-2023) All of Our Heartbeats Are Connected Through Exploding Stars - Feature Length Documentary Set against the backdrop of the 2011 Tsunami, this documentary is a profound odyssey serving as an essay on grief and the rebuilding of both humanity and nature after trauma. Filmed over a decade in Japan, Hawaii, and the Pacific Ocean. Link to page A Heart - Documentary, installation, and augmented Reality This project delves into the intricacies of emotions through narratives from astronauts, a heart surgeon, heart transplant survivors, and a couple in love. These stories are woven together into a film that follows the heartbeat in each of them. Heart of an Astronaut - Short Documentary A captivating exploration of an astronaut's heart on its journey from Earth to space. Commissioned by the European Space Agency and filmed at the European Astronaut Centre Cologne. Bangalore, research film and book. Based on the Bellandur lakes, the big water reservoirs in Bangalore that at several occasions have caught fire because they were so polluted. I worked on storytelling projects that dealt with how the urban fabric had changed because of the IT industry and outsourcing offices and the housing for the growing middle-class. Among many projects, it resulted in the short film Lake on Fire. Set in a distant future, "Lake on Fire" tells the story of two former lovers reunited in a virtual forest created by artificial intelligence. Filmed in Bangalore, India. The book ”Fire on Lake” is a multi-layered narrative departing from the fires on Bellandur lake in Bangalore (India) between 2015-19. This artist book includes a collection of stories, poems, maps, illustrations and photographs — speculating on how plants are connected to Bangalore being India’s outsourcing and IT hub, to the breaking of phosphor in the Sahara desert, boolean algebra, and the Nobel prize in economics. Swamp Storytelling Invited by the Swedish Institute and Artlab Gnesta, I worked in the wetlands of Pondicherry, India, creating films and stories inspired by the swamps. The project resulted in the book "Fire on Lake," music videos for musician Shida Shahabi, and collaboration with Earth Colab. Birds in Space - Hybrid Sci-Fi Film This hybrid sci-fi film unfolds the narrative of a father and son on Jupiter's moon, Ganymede. | ||
